Preliminary study on immediate postpartum IUD

Abstract

|
Immediate postpartum insertion of IUD was carried out in 86 acceptors from June 1, 1973 to May 31, 1974 at National Medical Center and the following results were observed. 1. Age distribution showed the highest incidence in the age group of 25-29. 2. Over two third (76.8%) of the acceptors had the parity of 2-3. 3. The percentage of sponatneous expulsion at 12 moths was 31.4 4. Duration of wearing in 7-12 months and less than 6 months were 58.1% and 31.4% respectively. 5. Side-effects were leukorrhea, bleeding and lumbago etc.
